For the last two weeks of DisabilityPrideMonth, I visited Michigan Medicine/University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan to learn more about disability health and adaptive sports from MDisability faculty members (Michael McKee, MD, MPH, Feranmi Okanlami MD MS, and Justine Wu) as part of the MDisability Summer Internship Program!

This summer has taught me the importance of disability representation in research, how to conduct qualitative research, and how to play adaptive tennis! While the internship has wrapped up this week with final presentations, I am excited to continue researching the accessibility of health education and promotion for patients with sensory disabilities this fall under the guidance of Dr. McKee and Dr. James. Go Blue!
